When someone dies

When a loved one passes away, we know how difficult and stressful this can be for bereaved families.  We will advise and help you through the first steps you need to take and aim to guide you at your time of need.

When a death happens at home, hospital or a nursing home, a doctor must issue a medical certificate of death, this certificate is required to register the death.

If the death happens abroad, this can be unexpected and very upsetting, wondering what happens next? we will help and liaise with all authorities to assist returning your loved one home.

If a person has died at home or nursing home and a doctor has issued or intends to issue a medical certificate of death you can contact your chosen funeral director. We will collect your loved one from home or the nursing home and take them into our care.

The death will need to be registered at your local registration office (01294 310000) by appointment only, however funeral arrangements can be made during this time but the death has to be registered to finalise funeral arrangements.

If death occurs in hospital then the hospital doctor will issue a medical certificate of death, you can contact your chosen funeral director who will collect your loved one from hospital and take them into our care.

Funeral arrangements can be made during this time but the death must be registered to finalise the funeral arrangements.

A medical certificate of death can be collected from your local doctors surgery or the deceased hospital.
